ABOUT ME

My name is Sergey Rumyantsev and I am a tutor with a post graduate teaching qualification from the University of Nottingham, U.K. I have taught mathematics in a British international school for five years and have worked for almost a decade as a private tutor, preparing my students for various mathematics examinations such as IGCSE, A-Levels, SATs, GED and IB as well as mathematics competitions (SEAMO, ISMC, Eye-level, Math Kangaroo).

I provide private mathematics, physics and programming lessons for the residents of Koh Samui and online tuition for those who live elsewhere. Regardless of what your goal is: exams or mathematics Olympiad preparation, getting help with homework or complementing your studies at school and bringing it to the next level, we can always find a solution tailored to your specific needs.

In addition to tutoring privately, I also provide small group mathematics sessions and coding bootcamps during school holidays. These sessions are conducted at Cosi coworking space at Central Festival.

Mathematics

I tutor mathematics to the students of different age, from primary to university and prepare them for a variety of examinations: IGCSE, A-level, A-level Further, SAT, GED from all major exam boards such as CAIE (Cambridge), Edexcel, College Board and IB.

Physics

I tutor Physics to the students who are preparing for IGCSE and A-level examinations from CAIE (Cambridge) and Edexcel examination boards.

Coding

I am happy to share my passion for coding with those who would like to improve their programming skills in Python.

Private lessons

Private lessons with me are available for the residents of Koh Samui, Thailand. These lessons are conducted either at your location or at Cosi coworking space, Central Festival.
After assessing the student's level and setting up the goals for our lessons, I develop a personalised learning plan and make sure that we are on track to success by continuously assessing student's performance and making adjustments to our learning plan.

Online lessons

I teach IGCSE and A-level mathematics and Physics online to students located around the world. My online students have the same experience as those who study privately: together we create digital notebooks during online sessions, exchange homework and feedback on it and have a chat about things they find difficult outside of the lessons via Whatsapp, Line or Facebook messenger.

Home schooling

I am available for lessons in the morning and early afternoon for those who practice home schooling in Koh Samui.
Communication between tutors and parents is paramount for homeschoolers. Therefore, I make sure that my students take the same assessments and their parents receive the same feedback as they would in a traditional school, while making the learning path personalised and tailored towards the needs of an individual student.
